A world of smarts for the city
You live in a city…but is it smart? Can it help you park? Charge your car? Light your path?
By 2030, 60% of the world’s population is expected to live in mega-cities. Increased urbanisation however, creates increased challenges such as traffic congestion, energy efficiency and resource management.
The quality of life for citizens will depend largely on the smart solutions afforded to them through technology. Through IoT enabled infrastructure, a smart city uses technology and data to generate economic activity, accelerate innovation and better manage energy, resources and services. But most importantly, a smart city improves the experiences and lives of the people who live, work, visit and play there.
We bring smart cities to life
From remote controlled lighting that automatically switches on and off, dims or brightens as needed, to Wi-Fi hotspots that attract residents and businesses alike, smart city installations will pay for themselves many times over.
The key for any city in its transformation to becoming smart lies in a tailored approach that addresses the very specific interconnections between its size, topography, existing infrastructure and the needs of its citizens. In other words, there is no one size fits all approach.
By bringing together a bouquet of innovative digital infrastructure solutions which are complemented with our end-to-end process, we can create the solid foundation for your city’s future.
How we support the Smart Cities Plan
As our economy and knowledge-based industries grow, so too do our cities. However, in order to capitalise on this burgeoning opportunity, we need to rethink the way our cities are planned, built and managed today and into the future.
The Smart Cities Plan sets out the Government’s vision for our cities, and its plan for maximising their potential. It includes three pillars: Smart Investment, Smart Policy and Smart Technology. SCS uses technology across these three pillars to improve outcomes across city operations and enhance the services local governments and city councils offer their residents.
Our Smart City services integrates devices and data to drive civic and governance decision-making, and also creates networks of partners among governments, businesses, non-profits, community groups, universities, and hospitals to expand and improve the ability to serve citizens.ere
Moving into future
Anything that can be connected, will be connected. The Internet of Things (IoT) has triggered a paradigm shift. It has provided cities with senses and a voice as embedded devices talk to each other, waking up a vast network of otherwise ‘sleeping infrastructure.’
SCS is working on an artificial intelligence platform or ‘brain’ that connects all of the applications and solutions into one large ‘Smart’ neural network. We will do this by connecting an open standards-based network with a technology and device agnostic multi-application services and integrate all of the solutions required using a rich global partner ecosystem.into valuable insights provides stakeholders with better visibility, decision making and real-time response capabilities.
